This is more like the previous work I did...I got really stuck with the Fine Art one...I wanted to do monoprinting but I caaaaant at home :(
I dont really know how i feel about this...
First time ive ever properly attacked the sewing machine! The poor little thing had a hard time and kept breaking but it just about managed! The background image was solvent printed and i used the sewing machine to do line drawing over the top and also sewing in some patterns/images I found around the studio! I dont even care if it doesn't look that good because it was pretty fun!

This afternoons achievements! Cyanotype for the background and camerrrra and collaged bits and pieces on top! I wanted to get the composition a bit more interesting but gave up after about half an hour of failing!

I did these this morning...yesss its not even 10 yet! lets be a little more obsessed yeah? anyway...the top fashion one was inspired by Owen Gildersleeve who did a similar thing using electrical wire! i thought it looked pretty cool! hands down better than mine but to be fair...wool is hard to handle! and the bottom textiles made out of buttons was inspired by this typographical piece i saw in my Playful Type book! In that one they left the letters blank i.e. outlined the letters in bottons but to be honest i didnt really find it that comprehendible so I decided against doing that and went for the simple, i will definitely be able to read that, way! Again, they wont be used just on their own i highly doubt but i plan to use them within other imagery!

Solvent printed a photograph of the fashion room and did a quick illustration over the top! I then collaged some images over the top which i thought really communicated the studio and then overlayed some text on photoshop! And BOSH...we got this! Thoughts???

I saw a piece by Kenneth Do which i really liked...so i tried a similar thing out...how they are there wont be used for the posters but its still experimentation and i guess i could probably put it in that magazine im having to make! score!

The typography isnt right...but me and lauren had fun doing them! cheers again for the help lauren!

Black and white or colour?

I was just playing around with simplifying my studio idea but illustrating a long desk as you can see! I dont really know how I feel about it, its ok, its more how a promotional poster should be looking I guess but is the slogan a bit cheesy? Is the typography right?
But also I made a mistake when I was playing with it on photoshop and ended up with the top image which is just text but I quite liked how simple it was! I wont use it for the project...but i still think its pretty cool!

I boshed together a couple of collages of the doodles I came across in the studios...these are the results! They will not be used for my final designs...BUT maybe in fanzine/magazine...we'll see!
